I've had this for 4 months and have never had a problem with it. Frankly I love it. However today, out of no where, whenever I try to access something on it's hard drive I get:
"Playback Failed. Previous data may have been corrupted."
I can't copy, burn, watch or do anything with the stuff on my hard drive.
Am I sore out of luck and have to reformat the HD?
The only thing I could find that was similar was:
http://216.239.51.104/search?q=cache:7sMYqPwlGA8J:www.tacp.toshiba.com/tacpassets-imag...ient=firefox-a
“Playback failed. Previously recorded data may
have been corrupted.”
This message will appear when pause and playback is
repeatedly operated. This is not a malfunction
That's from a different model though and it doesn't say how to fix it.

Try unplugging the unit for awhile (maybe five minutes or so) then plug it back in. It will have to do a hard re-boot (WAIT will appear in the display for a minute or two). Perhaps that will help.
