  1. Dear friends,

Look to the image that I attached.
In the red mark appears the noise (bottom border) problem.
Does exists a way/filter to use in VirtualDub to reduce this problem?
Thanks and sorry about may bad English.

Your VCR is not tracking the tape correctly.

Basically, I'd remove the corrupted lines by cropping and center the rest of the image vertically (letterbox without resizing) in original-height frame.
In VDub it can be done in resize filter with 'expand frame and letterbox image' option checked and original size numbers filled in for frame size and cropped size numbers (maybe it's more safe here to crop using null-transform - before resize filter) for new width/height. Not sure the trick would completely disable VDub resize engine (to prevent from interlace-sourced artifacts), but the same thing can be perfectly done in AviSynth.

  4. Adjust the tracking and recapture. As lordsmurf said those lines are caused by the tracking being off. I'd just go back and do it right instead of destroying part of the image.

  5. Dear friends,

    Thanks for your answers.
1- If I don't want to destroy part of the image, does exists a filter to reduce this problem?
2- It I destroy part of the image, the vertical resolution will not stay in the default resolution (480), how I correct this?
I already test this VHS in many VCR and in all the problem appears.

If you find you have to crop, you restore the resolution by adding in borders.

...just adjust the tracking on the machine, perhaps??? Unless you're unable to do the capture again somehow, in which case I'd personally keep the noise as you've still got quite a lot of valid picture there, just with a bit of fuzz on top of it. Rather that than cutting out a lot of the image, which would be like trying to watch a film over the top of a wall that's just a little too high for you to reach past...

That said my current VCR doesn't have a tracking control (at least until I find the remote again!) but it seems to do a good enough job of "digitally" controlling this; I'd only expect it to get to this extent either with a very old, worn out tape, or on an older manual-adjust (or semi-auto) machine which was out of alignment.

Do go and see if it's adjustable on the tape machine first!

Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!

On some VCRs you can use the channel up/down buttons to adjust tracking while the tape is playing. But I don't think that will work from the remote, just the VCR itself.
