    Hi, I had to disconnect the cable from the sky digibox to have new carpets fitted, when connected it up again the remote wouldn't work, I phoned sky I went through a few things with them but couldn't get the remote to work, in the end they told me I need a new remote, it was working ok before I unpluged every thing, is there a way I can find out for sure the remote is not working?

    Sorry but it has to be said. Make sure that batteries are new.. aside from that if its an IR (infra-red) remote you can check to see if its working but starting a video camera and aiming the remote towards the camera and pressing any button.. The cam will/should depending on cam pick up the IR light and display it as a blinking/flashing light. a digital cam set to movie mode might also work.. If it worked before then im sure it’s something simple.

    Thanks for the reply I'm happy to say it's working again one of buttons was pushed in on one side. I did think it was done as I've had the remote about 6 years
