  1. Does this only work for DVDs or can it decode other formats also?

But the PDF file on nVidia's website shows support for H.264 hardware acceleration. Is that not an MPEG4 standard instead of MPEG2?

    P. S. I can't get the nVidia Video Decoder (installed from PureVideo) to decode my H.264 file

H.264 isn't really part of any MPEG standard. AVC is the MPEG name for MPEG-4 Part 10, but yeah same thing. AVC decoding though depends on your card. Think only 85/600's support full hardware decoding.

Also not sure whether PureVideo offers AVC/H.264 acceleration or you need to use say PowerDVD or WinDVD.
