looking to purchase a digital media receiver... need advice.

alright so basically here is what i am lookin for.

I want a small AND slick-looking little box (possibly sittin vertically) that i can sit right beside my dvd player and vcr. i want it to wirelessly stream, mainly, xvid/divx movies as well as mp3 audio from a NAS hdd attached to my router. i want the movies to look nice (as far as the quality of the source will allow them) when being streamed as well. the box does not need to have a vivid display, just somethign that tells the time in the movie or the song. i would like it to be easy to use, nice-looking straightforward menus (family will be using it, mom is technologically retarded).

i have been looking for quite awhile and have not been able to find anything worthy... right now, i have a nintendo wii and if i could stream xvid/divx movies to my TV via that box, i would, but i don't think i can. also, i would consider purchasing an xbox 360 if it could what i needed and am willing to mod unless it takes consider time and effort (ie: sautering).
