  1. Hey all,

I have a client that needs me to create a DVD for delivery to Germany and Slovakia. I know this means that the video needs to be encoded to PAL standard, but i wonder about the region issue. Do i need to care about that?

I have encocded the video to PAL in premier, and i am building the DVD in DVD LAB Pro 2. Is there something special i need to do in DVD LAB to make it playable in region 2 countries?

    Thanks guys.

It's default region free in DVD Lab Pro but you can change it, see http://www.mmbforums.com/ipb/index.php?showtopic=9638&hl=region+free

Region Free should not be a problem at all....especially if you are sending a DVDR.

Even an NTSC disc would not be a problem...at least in 95% of Germany anyway. Not sure about Slovakia...never been there.

Also some part of commercial DVDs are region free, (at least in PAL countries; heard of some NTSC players that still want region 1 and won't play a region-free disc). As a rule, those are DVDs released 15 years later theatrical release date; you don't have to add region protection unless you have an obligation to do so.
