    I have gotten a lot of useful and good information from this site, but I do have a question. I know that I can rip a DVD to a computer but my question is how can I stream that dvd to another computer in my network. Btw that part of the network is not hooked to the net. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

    Take a look at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

    Baldrick has also created a few tutorials on streaming from capture devices using vlc (and media encoder) - these may not be exactly what you're looking for but are useful in understanding how some of the apps work.
