  1. I used TMPEGEnc to encode a .mov Quicktime animation into .mpg. I examing the mpg and the video is just like the original .mov. Then I use FlasKMPEG to convert the same mpg to a DivX version. I use the 4.12 version of the codec (800 kbit/sec) and the radium mp3 audio codec (160kbit/sec, 44.1khz). When I playback the movie, the audio goes in and out of sync constantly through the movie. One minute it'll be perfectly sync'd, the next minute, the audio will be over 5 seconds behind the video, and then back again.

What's weird is that I use these same exact settings, except for a higher video bitrate, maybe 875kbit/sec (to keep more quality and detail) and 48khz sampling audio rate (to match the original audio bitrate) to encode a full-length movie to divx and it works fine, everything is usually 'NSync (heh) the entire time. Every now and then it gradually works itself out of sync, however that is easily fixed using this AVI Information program I found from here a while back.

    Anyone have any clues?

  2. i have a similar problem, i suspect the divx codex is the one causing troubles... have you tried another codec (just for testing)?
... this copy of me hasn't been registered for the last 36 years! (no spamming please)

  3. Well, I was using 4.11 until like this past weekend when I upgraded, I encoded a bunch of stuff and it was alright. However, I only encoded full-length movies, not this Quicktime .mov->MPEG .mpg movie at the time.
