dscaler is not a good software to record (whatever the version you have)
& i know what i'm talkin about!
very good prog to watch videos,deinterlace.... but not for recording
try virtual vcr instead (don't know if it will work well with games sources) or windvr3(mpg)
For your dropped frames problem
You get dropped frames when:
a: you record too much data(the bandwidth is satured)(must use an appropriate codec which will suits to your configuration)
b: deinterlace problem(never EVER use tomscope mode when you record) -
virtualvcr support pal 60 htz (because i use it all the time these days)
Actually it's your capture card that support it to be precise
try a codec like huffyuv and the option "resample dynamically" if you record the sound
Set the size(custom settings) 720x480 for example(then remove this option because i have identified a bug with it)
Then press f5 to record /escape to stop
and you shouldn't have dropped frames*** DIGITIZING VHS / ANALOG VIDEOS SINCE 2001**** GEAR: JVC HR-S7700MS, TOSHIBA V733EF AND MORE -

well first of all your capture card detect automatically the right signal so if there is written pal_b that means ur game/vhs is pal(not ntsc)
secondly if u get a black and white picture i assume you are using the s-video wire..and you shouldn't. use the composite wire(yellow) instead
