  1. Its been so long since I trawled the forum I had to re-register , however in all the years I have been backing up my DVD collection I have never encountered any problems until now. I cant backup my copy of The Queen (Helen Mirren). Has anyone else encountered this problem , I have all the latest software ie AnyDVD,DVD Decrypter,DVD Shrink all of them are up to date still no joy.

Try RipIt4Me, if that doesn't work wait until RipIt4Me and AnyDVD are updated then try again.

Is the disk dirty or scratched? Have you tried to back it up with a different dvd drive?
When it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!!

I had trouble too. I bypassed Ripit4 me and used the DVD Dycrypter. Here is what I found and how I did it,
I was able to rip in the Movie Only mode.
The "key" seems to be to enable the "Cycle tray after bad sectors" function in Dvd Decrypter program.
    In Dvd Decrypter, go to:
    Tools
    Settings
Be sure you are in the "General tab"
Look at the lower left section of page.
Be sure to check, "Cycle Tray After Bad Sectors".
It recycles the tray a couple of tomes but then works fine.

ripit4me worked, but I used movie only mode. Don't know if that wold make a difference. Even though it is new, it still could be scratched, dirty or just faulty. Also try fab decrypter.

I'm guessing you want a free solution, but I backed up my copy of "The Queen" with no problems using 1clickdvdcopy Pro and DVD43. 1click (LG Software Solutions) offers a free trial and DVD43 is free, so you may want to give it a shot. You could also try the free DVDFAB Decrypter with DVD Shrink, then to Imgburn. Good Luck.

When all else fails try a "movie only".

In the case of RipIt4Me he is probably going to have a very long wait "Development stopped April 1 2007."

I too had same problem with ripit4me. Used dvdfabdecrypter and ripped to HD, no problem. Now how do I open an iso file with DVD Shrink? Since I have never used fab I do not know how to open an iso file with Shrink so that I can then burn with imgburn, can someone please tell me how to open an iso file with shrink? Thank you very much.
    Thank You,

It will rip with the latest versions of RipIt4Me and Dvd Decrypter. RipIt4Me calls DVD Decrypter so you must install both on your system. IMPORTANT: BEFORE you run RipIt4Me, you need to open DVD Decrypter and set it to "Cycle Tray on Error". There's some nasty snot on it that it only recovers from with the tray "cycle on error" enabled. Also, RipIt4Me will complain about bad sectors and asks if you want to rip it again. Ignore this (Click "No").

Even after successfully ripping I had problems with The Queen (R2 PAL). I don't remember the exact details but it was virtually a reconstruction job with PGCedit.
