If you haven't noticed lately, the pressure has been turned up significantly in the last few weeks on anything having to do with decrypting. I've been following this issue for a few months now, and I have yet to see this level of activity from cease and desist orders relating to the DMCA. After the removal of RipIt4Me and the related forums and guides, the subsequent removal of FixVTS, we now find that the entire decryption forum has disappeared from Digital Digest. Digital Video Forum is now banning any discussion of decrypting:

One forum, Digg, went down just the other day on a cease and desist order, but then decided to return, and fight: http://blog.digg.com/?p=74?
I have seen various programs go down like DVDDecrypter and Shrink in the past, but they were fairly isolated incidents. This latest round seems to be a much more orchestrated effort, with forums now being targeted as well as programs themselves. Will this subside again? Maybe. But it's definitely a 'surge' that deserves note, and a fight back.
