  1. Okay everyone, I've been reading a lot on this site how people can't seem to get their WinTv PCI boards to work in Windows XP with VirtualDub...well, mine seems to work perfectly. I'm using the w2kdrv311.exe driver listed on the Hauppuage website, and I'm using Windows XP (full version from a clean install). I just captured a 480 X 480, 20 second clip from my camcorder straight into VirtualDub and was using the Huffyuv codec...then I played it back with no problem at all in Windows Media Player...So, I don't know what problems you are having but I'll help you out if I can....

  2. Oh, I forgot to mention...it appears that my Netmeeting 3.01 is working perfectly with the above driver also. So apparently XP works with both WDM and VFW drivers.

  3. I think most people here are complaining about the Hauppauge WinTV PVR card under Windows XP. It is true the latest WinTV drivers are WDM and work ok under XP for standard Win TV cards.

These drivers will also allow you to view TV properly on a PVR card, however, you can only capture to AVI with these drivers. No WDM MPEG capture drivers yet exist from Hauppauge. I am one of three people I know with this problem and I get jerky MPEG playback if I capture anything at all at any setting. It also seems the standard XP drivers have the wrong field order when capturing as any AVI files I have encoded to MPEG 2 and burned to DVD suffer horribly from jerkyness and stuttering. I know of three other PVR owners here in Edinburgh who all have similar problems under XP. And before anyone says it's my DVD player, everything worked under Win98SE.

Email Hauppauge tech support and you get no reply, phone them and they don't answer. Very, very poor aftersales support and I will NEVER buy another Hauppauge card because of this. The delay in producing updated drivers I could live with, all new operating systems go through this process, but the very shoddy customer service is unforgivable.

Buzz10, i used the "w2kdrv311.exe" from the Hauppuage site, but XP does not seem to accept the drivers.

Could the problem be that the WDM drivers for XP are installed?

Do not see VFW or any others (except ofcourse WDM) drivers under Devicemanager.

    Any clue here?
