ConvertXtoDVD and Half-D1

Is it possible to have ConvertXtoDVD output half-D1 files. If not is there any software just as easy to use as it that does?

you can specifiy a file size but NOT format, choices are PAL or NTSC

dvd5 dvd9 or custom

i use custom to keep the conversions at 4000mb or smaller so I don't burn to the edge of the disc

BUT NO, you cannot choose 1/2 D1

you will need to look in the software section of this site, search for VCD conversion/convert

most encoders will create those files , and most auhoring tools will create dvds using those files ,BUT they are not 1 click drag&drop simple tools..

possibly there is something like that out there somewhere but i have never used it

SUPER will create half-D1 encoded VOBs, but not the whole DVD structure. You can import these VOBs into something like TDA to create menus and finish off the authoring.

The main problem with using SUPER to do this is that it only encodes PAL at 25 fps (not a problem) and NTSC at 29.97 fps (a big problem if the source is 23.976 fps).
