Hi everyone,
I just purchased the XA2 and am very pleased with it - HD Discs look amazing and the Upconverting capabilities of the machine for regular dvd's really are excellent.
One question though, when I start the machine, it seems to take a long time for it to start up and for the tray to open - like 30 - 45 seconds. Same thing when ejecting a disc that is playing - not as long, but still a considerable lag time. Is this normal?
Thanks for any help,
Roy

Nobody else has answered after 3 hours... A sign of how many people own the player?
I am very sure that I read that long start up times are normal for this player and it's one of the drawbacks of it. However, I think all HD-DVD and BluRay players have long start up times. -
One would need to own the box to comment on "normal". These things don't have high speed processors. The cpu is some kind of micro controller (probably ARM) with alot of work to do. Diagnostics alone place a heavy workload on startup.
If you knew what was really going on in these boxes, you would be amazed they only cost ~$500.
