I've got .ts files and .mkv files on my hard drive.

I have a BD burner and I'd like to know what programs and procedures are needed to burn these to BD so it will be playable on stand-alone, or most stand-alone, BD players.

Could someone explain the procedure (dummy style would work)! TIA!

  2. Oh, The procedure is quite simple in fact. You re-encode the .ts and .mkv files to a files with a properties suitable for BD format. For this you need BD capable encoder. Then you author these files to BD DiscImage. For this you need an authoring application capable to author BD Discs. Then you burn the image with BD burning application. To have all this software prepare 10 000$ and you are done!

Gee thanks...Where do I send the $10,000 to get these programs that I'm sure will likely burn $20 coasters! Seriously, so you are saying it really isn't possible yet? If that's true I want to be the first to congratulate Sony for creating the next Betamax, Elcaset, Minidisc, SACD format. We are in the era where the softwear companies are either also the hardware companies or they're in bed with each other. The consumer loses again.
