The last version I had, refused to load unless I was connected to the net. Stopped using it since then.

i'm using the version released in January, I don't have any problems, but i haven't tried the newest release yet
go back to the authors website and send him an email
do a web search see if you can download the jan release or even older -
this program is VERY PARTICULAR about what computers it will run on. works fine on one of my XP machines, brings the other XP machine to a grinding halt!
check the requirements against your PC specs carefully -
I haven't been able to get it to run, either, I suspect because the computers I tried didn't meet the minimum specs. The req's are:
# Full admin credentials within an admin session (for NTkernel OS).
# At least 1800 MHz Intel® Pentium4 processor or equivalent. (64-bit CPU support NOT guaranteed)
# 512MB of RAM or more.
# 20GB of free space (or more) on the Hard disk where the OS is installed.
# 1024 x 768 video resolution or larger.
# 32,000-color video or more.
# IE 5.01 or later.
# Internet connection.
It won't run in a virtual OS or WINE the home site says. There is something fishy about the requirements.
IE 5.01 is so old, that sites you would want to stream save from probabaly won't even let you in.
20GB of *free space*? for what? I don't need that much to rip and burn a dvd.
32,000 colors is properly called 16-bit, that's pretty easy to meet.
The ram req is suspect, too. This app is supposed to run in Win98, but 512mb is the upper limit of ram for 98 or ME. More than that and you need something like Cacheman to hide the excess from the OS to avoid trouble.
I see no reason at all for that fast a processor to be needed. I run TMPGEnc Plus in VPC Win98 (333MHz emulated) on a G4 eMac and it does just fine. -
it doesn't need all that too run not for my uses anyway, but since the author has added suport for h264, wheich needs more over head, i suspect, might run into trouble trying do conversions from hidef captures if you did not meet those specs
put for the average size avi at normal resolutions 720 & less, from my own experience.. there is absolutely no problems
i even did a resize and convet from a 920*528 mkv file to 720*480 mpeg2 using super.
and i have 256 meg NOT 512 meg -
well it was obviousally a reboot what was needed as its working now and I have version 2007 build 22 march 2007 thanks all
