I have some tapes of old home video clips that I have recoded via WinDV and edited with VIrtualDub. However, to make it easier for people to figure out what they are watching, I want to add a simple into text page to certain clips that would just have s description of the video.

    E.g. "Summer Vacation 1992"

I just want that to go on the screen for 4-5 seconds as just text with a background and then go into the clip.

What is the easiest way to do this? I can splice it into the AVI file or the already encoded m2v file or whatever makes the most sense.

If there's a guide on this and you can point me to a link, I didn't find anything via searching but wasn't sure what to search for.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi-

You can do it however you like. If an AVI and this intro clip has the same properties as the main clip, then use the Append feature of VDub(Mod). If an M2V, there are probably several ways to join them. I'd use DGIndex for the job. Open them one after the other and then go File->Save Project and Demux Video. And finally, if already a DVD, you can open the DVD in PGCEdit and go Title->Import Title's Intro Clip, and follow the easy instructions from there.

I take it you already know how to create the short text video as an AVI, M2V and/or authored DVD?
