I've been asked by a local school to burn 100 DVDs. I have 3 burners, and they are older:
- two Sony DRX-530UL External 8X burners (DVD-R)
- internal 8x burner
I've always assumed that the speed of the media represents the "maximum" burn speed that it can handle. Or is it the "only" burn speed that it can handle?

The one caveat is that the burner's firmware may not have strategies for certain 16x media, so you may be limited to burning at 4x.
