I have a DVD (unencrypted) with some family movies that I want to transfer to my machine to edit in iMovie. I've successfully managed to extract all beside one of them to MPEG4 (.MOV) (ffmpeg).
The one I can't seem to extract is the first .vob file (VTS_01_1.VOB) of 5. The file contains the first 18 minutes and 51 seconds and is the same exact size as the other .VOB files in the folder.
This is the message I get:
FFmpeg version CVS, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard
Tue Mar 6 22:43:48 CET 2007
Mac OSX universal build for ffmpegX
libavutil version: 49.0.0
libavcodec version: 51.9.0
libavformat version: 50.4.0
Input #0, mpeg, from '/Users/cstromme/Documents/Familie/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB':
Duration: N/A, bitrate: N/A
No audio or video streams available
Anybody have a clue as to what might be wrong here?

Have you tried MPEG Streamclip http://www.squared5.com? It sounds like it might be a timecode break issue.
