    Hi,

Sorry if this is a known topic (I couldn't find anything that matched exactly).

I am having some trouble converting a Mac The Ripper VOB into an iPod movie.

    I get the following

Encoding started on Tue Mar 13 16:52:00 GMT 2007
    x264 [info]: using SAR=1000/1001
x264 [info]: using cpu capabilities Altivec

/Users/spike/Documents/Spike/PSP/INDINANA_JONES_RAIDERS_GERMAN Title 1/VIDEO_TS/RAIDERS.VOB.ff.video.mp4: could not find codec parameters

I know the VOB is okay as I can play it from ffmegx and if I chasnge the encoder to mencoder the encoding starts ok. Similarly if I use an AVI as the source and the iPod H264 as the output ieverything seems to work ok as well.

So any ideas why a MacTheRipper title extraction VOB would cause the error and why an AVi doesn't.

Any help appreciated - apologies if I am being dumb.

    Cheers

  3. you may want to try using YADE to extract the VOB file or try VisualHub to convert the file...

Handbrake will make an mp4 from a dvd folder or image. The MTR output should be acceptable to handbrake. Under mp4 output choose avc/h.264 codecs video - aac audio.

could be copy protection and re-creation of the VOB
from MTR caused time code breaks?

If you open the VOB in MpegStreamclip does it
prompt you to fix time code breaks?

If you fix them in MpegStreamclip,
save the new VOB, and then export to Mp4, what happens?
