I have dl a movie, which is in DAT format (which was about 740,949.KB). I try to enconde in avi with virtualdub, but it changes it about 31.2 GB.

My question is, how can i burn dat files in dvd format?

    DAT is likely VCD; MPEG1.
    Confirm using GSpot.

If it is a VCD file, you can use VCDGear to convert to MPEG1 file and reauthor as a VCD.

If you want to author to DVD, then use SVCD2DVDMPG.

A dat file is usually a vcd video file and you may be able to author it directly to a dvd with tmpgenc dvd author, see http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/convert/vcdtodvd/vcdtodvd.htm (skip the vcd ripping part).

If that wont work just use a simple allinone tool like dvd flick, convertxtodvd.

And it might be a good idea to use vcdgear to change the dat to a standard mpg also.

TDA will join the source files if you add them to the same track. Just remove the chapter point TDA inserts at the join, for seamless playback.

Unless you're a developer and want to compile the application yourself, and/or make your own version of it, the source is irrelevant to you.
