haven't bought any in a while... but last time I tried them, CompUSA brand dvd's were POC (Pieces Of Crap). They were all 1x-2x (non specified on the box), and wouldn't play on any of my stand alone DVD players...

    I bought a 100-pack of Verbatim MCC03RG20 inkjet 16x last week for $18.50 total. And then I got a 100-pack of Verbatim MCC01RG20 inkjet 4x for $18.00. Also spent $24 on a 100-pack of Sony-branded YUDEN000T02 DVD+R 16x.

Why would I waste time on generic Chinese/Taiwan/Hong Kong crap CompUSA-branded media? Why would you?

If Verbatim is on sale at Best Buy, go to OfficeMax and get them to price-match. Then use a $10 OFF coupon. If you don't have a coupon, sign up for both the e-mail and mailing address newsletters. Also join the OfficeMax club (free) where you swipe your card when you buy things. Those get you tons of free $OFF coupons.

It's easy to save money AND get the good stuff.

I've used these 100 pack Compusa disks in the past. If you buy 3 packs you might get 3 different mediaIDs or more.

If you drive is highly tolerant of media like mine are they'll work for you.

I am giving up on buying at CompUSA. They are closing many of their stores including all of the stores in big city areas. I attempted to use one of their gift cards at a closing store was refused. Wanted the price they advertised in the day old flyer was refused. Their website won;t take their gift cards. Their corporate customer service says the store should take the card. They also said the closing store inventories are being sold by a liquidator - thats why the prices are high and none of their sales apply.

Steer clear of them, they can't run a clean business.
