  1. I'm considering buying the myhd 130 card to record football, basketball, and soocer games. I understand the result is .ts or .tp file and I can use HDTV2dvd to convert file to vob. Assuming the game is commercial free and is 2-3 hours long - how long will the conversion take? Thank you.

I have the 120 card. Each hour of recording takes 8GB of disk space for HD. It'll take less time converting 720p than it will 1080i.

20 seconds of HD footage. Try it out yourself

I have the 130 and I better warn you about it. If you get a very strong over the air HD TV signal where you live, you can connect an antenna directly to the card and get excellent quality recordings. I began to have reception problems where I live and it just got worse and worse for me. Eventually I couldn't record anything without many missing frames from an over the air broadcast. If you are going to try to connect some sort of cable box to this card, it's a very bad idea. The only connections the card has are analog connections and it sucks doing analog recording. I bought a converter box from my cable company and the HD channels do come through clear, but they only go through an analog connection to the 130 card via coax and the card did an awful job of recording them. Fortunately I found this article
    http://hdjunkie.com/tutorials.html
which tells how to record unencrypted channels from a cable box via firewire to a PC and this works great for me, so I no longer use the 130 card.

Summary - ONLY buy this card if you can directly connect an antenna to it. This card is HORRIBLE at analog channel recording. Do NOT buy this card for anything but HD TV recording. If you have to use a converter box of any kind you do NOT want to buy this card.
