    PLEASE i really need to make my pioneer DV490V-S player region free, and i can't find any simple code to do that. I've read in these forums some complicated hacks using laptops and palms but I'm not sure how to do that, but I moved to Spain from america with my entire DVD collection on me (about 60 movies) and i don't want just to throw them away.... however this is the only forum i've found with at least a solution...

    can anyone help me?

    For as long as I can remember Pioneer's can only be region hacked by overwriting the firmware with a CD. I've done it with a 575 but not with a 490.

    There is no simple remote handset hack so don't waste your time looking for one.
