I have only been a member here for a few days.
Information received from my last posting has enabled me to recover lots of data from media which was corrupted due to sticky labels and inkjet colour printing (on the labels).
Borrowing a technique from my old stamp collecting days, I have soaked off those offensive labels and carefully washed and cleaned the DVDs in water. Later used the Sharpie pens for ID info.
Presto!
Formerly corrupted data now plays like a charm!
My CD collection (where there is interrupted skipping on many disks) is next.
I have found that the older the label, the worse the corruption and the more difficult is the soak / remove cycle; but it eventually works!!
Who will start the class action suit against Avery and all those companies who sell sticky labels for electronic media???
I love you guys and gals ......
