  1. I like to do the collage and revolver effect which is found at http://slide.com/arrange (collage and revolver buttons are found on the lower right side under styles). Anybody who can help me how to do this?

Neither are very difficult in any effects package and most good editors. Even WAX2 can do most of it.

Collage is the simplest. Using Vegas (my favourite editor) and the Track Motion function it is a simple matter of key framing the position of the images on each track to create the movement.

Revolver is more time consuming simply because the movement is more precise.

Something like After Effects or Fusion would be better suited because they have functions and scripting that makes it much simpler to create smooth movement and repeat and copy the tracking.

Perhaps if you tell us what software you use we can give you specific techniques to try.

  3. No knowledge on scripting yet. Is this doable at Premier 6.5?

I haven't used Premiere 6.5 in years, so I cannot remember if can do this or not. As I said, Vegas would do this pretty easily. It would be time consuming - especially revolver - but definitely do-able.

Have a look at the Premiere 6.x tutorials at www.wrigleyvideo.com. Specifically the first tutorial on keyframing, and the one a bit further down the page on the digital photo album. Neither will give you the effect you are after, but they will give you the tools to re-create it yourself.
