I just want to know one thing... will either of the following two TBCs remove Macrovision? Data Video TB-1000 and AV toolBox AVT-8710. I am using a Canopus 55 now and the color on the captured video are horrible- over staurated. So I have heard here that a TBC is the way to go to capture clean crisp (relatively speaking for VHS) video. I would like to put the TBC between a Panasonic AG-1960 and the Canopus 55. Will this solve my problem of oversaturated colors? I am using a PC based system with plenty of RAM (2 G)and 3.1 processor so computer is more than adequet for the job.

Short answer
Yes, the TBC-1000 will remove macrovision from the VHS signal, as it is essentially an error artificially introduced, and is removed accordingly.
Will it fix your over-saturation problem - only if it is caused by macrovision. Are these commercial tapes ? If not, macrovision isn't your problem, and you should be looking at other causes - the player, perhaps.Read my blog here.
