I cannot get a mkv format to convert to mp4 with subtitles.

when I convert the subtitles disappear, but do fine when I convert from avi to mp4.
I am using Videora iPod Converter.

Any other program or am I doing something wrong?

avi with switchable subtitles or permanent subtitles in the image?

mkv usually has switchable subtitles and then must videora ipod converter support that to be able to add them. You can try extract the subtitles, mkvextractgui and manually add them using avisynth and convert or add the subs with virtualdubmod or autogk and convert to avi and then to mp4(see subtitle forum for guides).

You can mux them with mp4box/yamb afterwards. Either ttext or Nero VOBSubs.

Apple really should add ttext subtitle support. How long did it take them to add gapless playback though? Maybe in 2-3 years, with menu support by 2025.

    ok I extracted the Subtitles.

    What else do I do?

Convert it to AVI then add them and then convert to mp4?

I also do not have any idea on how to add the subtitles back into the video.

You ask me what infromation you need and I'll give you everything you need to know on how to help me .

The Subtitle file name is track3.ass.

anything else you need to know?

Videora is ffmpeg based right? Means that it supports AVISynth so you could do:
    avisource("movie.avi")
    textsub(track3.ass)

or try directshowsource() directly with the mkv.
