I have many protected VHS movies that are deteriorating and I need to get them to DVD. My VCR only has AV outputs. Should I put an effort into getting a VCR with S-Video output? Would the quality be noticeably better?
I have a stand-alone DVD recorder, Sony VRD-MC3 with AV and S-Video inputs. The missing peice would go between the VCR and DVD recorder. I think it would be a digital video stabilizer. I looked into a full frame TBC but don't want to spend that much. There are several stabilizers for under $50. Does anyone have knowledge or experience with these?
I sure would appreciate any comments about my plan.
Would a Plextor ConvertX PX-M402U be something I should consider for the piece in the middle?
