I am looking into building a computer. Should I go with RDRAM or DDR? How is the Asus P4T-E? Is their a better choice for a motherboard...please give me some reasons if you respond...

I suggest Going for the Soyo P4S Dragon Ultra ( it's socket 478 & uses SIS 645 chipset), it has 333 Mhz Mem ( PC2700 ), Raid support ( Hi Point ) ATA133 Support, USB 2.0 support ( nice 4 port USB 2.0 kit for the floppy bay provided, USB ports out back (v1.1) and will ship a USB 2.0 card once you register with Soyo ). Built in 10/100 NIC and 6 channel Audio ( which I do not use but prefer the SB Audigy Platinum Instead ), pretty much everything. Am really Happy with it as I was notl oking foward to RDIMM and was not looking at the DDR / P4 combos by Via.

I am not interested in Raid and I have a nice soundcard already...I do want the 478 pin setup...any other mobo/RAM suggestions?

Some More DDR P4 Alternatives.
shuttle AV40
the AV40 uses the SiS 645 chipset as well ( BTW 333 is DDR with a 333mhz fsb, DDR is as you know 266 mhz fsb ), the AV40 does not have raid, the AV40R does, both are socket 478. They also make a AV45GTR ( uses the Via P4X266a chipset ) as well if you are bent on the 266 fsb. BTW if you do alot of DVD Ripping for "back up " purposes and re-encoding, then a Raid0 set up makes sense due to the amount fo files ect.. espically when the file are over 4GB, then raid plus NTFS make alot of sense. -
since intel is abondoning rdram, what does that tell ya?

I certainly wouldn't recommend VIA as a P4 DDR chipset for video capture (you're asking for trouble).
Go with either SiS or the newer 845-based motherboards that support DDR.
