Panasonic S27 hacking code

Not sure I'm posting this in the right section, sorry.
Here's what I have done to try and make my Panasonic S27 multi-region:
"With no disc in the player and the drawer closed, press stop, stop, setup, then 3,8,8,8,3 and the desired region code, (0 for multiregion). Nothing will appear on screen. Then switch the player off and back on. It should now play discs for any region."

Mine's a region 2 and that method did NOT work! Does anyone know the right way to do it?
