    I have WinXP PIII 500mhz 512Ram never done this before but was wondering how long it take to convert a divx movie into svcd format and whats the best program to use to do it thanks!

    I don't know about best, but TMPGenc is the most popular (freeware). As for time, the runtime of the source, resizing, and type of encoding makes a difference. Most important is CPU speed. 500Mhz is pretty slow. I had a K6-2 500 and it took me ~18hrs to encode a 90min DivX file. Now I have a Tbird 1.2Ghz and the same file would take about 90min.
