    hello i have a dvd player samsung p-142 and it plays SVCD but i cant play VCD i believe that i nedd some kind of code so that i will be able to play VCDs can anyone help plz

    The ability to play VCDs and SVCDs is a firmware issue rather than a code issue. I've never heard of a player that could be made to play a format only by entering a secret code. Others have reported not being able to play VCDs and SVCDs on your player. One guy reported being able to play VCDs but not SVCDs. This to me sounds like a firmware issue. You might do a search and see if there are multiple firmwares around and perhaps one will solve your problem.

    Check the <--PLAYERS list for your model, and Google it as well. There are many models that can be firmware modded, and many that can't. You'll have to do the research on which kind yours is...
