Hi,
I extract .ts files from DCT6412. An example SD TV files come in 528x480 resolution and is 2GB size.
This is not standard DVD size, so I think SVCD2DVD converts it to 720x480. The result is a 7GB (not AutoFit/unshrunk) DVD.
My question is: Is it possible to not convert the resolution. I think DVDLab Pro permits non-compliant resolutions. My DVD player has no problem displaying a non-compliant DVD. I have no problem with the quality of produced DVD but, it would be nice to save processing time.
Thanks

You could leave the video conversion option unchecked. I've used SVCD2DVD to author 528x480 streams to DVD. My player (Apex) does not stretch it to fill the whole screen...so I am looking at an image that only covers 2/3 of the screen (from left to right, not centered). I've asked this same question in another thread with no reply yet. Please let me know if you find out how to do it without reencoding. Thanks!!!!!

Where is this opption to convert. The only thing I see is "Convert PAL assets to NTSC"
Anyways, I did find something of interest.
I use VideoReDo to cut out the start and end of the recording. I used to save the .ts file back into the .ts format. Now I tried saving it as .mpg. VideoReDo does not take any longer and it does not convert the resolution of the video. When I import the .mpg into SVCD2DVD there is no conversion and the DVD is created as I wanted it.
My player does not have trouble viewing the produced DVD.
If you player has trouble experiment with the input file format. -
When I import a .ts file into SVCD2DVD, then HDTV2DVD kicks in and reencodes it from 528 to 720. Check the resulting VOB files for resolution...run it through DVDPatcher v.106 (or any other program). It should still be 528x480 or it has been reencoded. The trick is getting 528x480 to display full screen like 480x480 can be? Can this be done?

Hey, Shipper
I use VideoReDo too - great product. Instead of saving as .mpg, try using the .vob output, and renaming .vob extension to .mpg when done. This saves SVCD2DVD re-encoding to insert the nav packets. Using the .vob option puts the nav packets into the stream for you. So much quicker!
Cheers, Andy E.
