  1. Hello,

The television I have did not come with an earphone jack, and I'd like to find a way to watch tv with my earphones on, and the tv volume on mute or low. I can send the video and audio out to a camcorder, and plug my earphones into that and control the volume from there, but I am looking for another method. I tried using this: "stereo Y cable"/"stereo jack to 2 RCA plugs", and plugged my earphones into that, but it did not work. I think I may need an "amplifier" but I'm not looking to buy another piece of hardware or spend a lot to make this happen. I could continue using the camcorder, but would rather not. Suggestions?

You can try hooking it up to computer speakers that have a headphone jack. Then you can modify the volume that way. You need to have the rca to headphone jack adapter in order for it to work.

    No prob

In fact that is what I use in my basement. I do light workouts a few times a week in the basement (and I do mean "light" workouts but I'm trying ). I have an old 19" tube hooked up to my cyberhome dvd player. From there I have the dvd player audio out hooked up to a headphone adapter and that up to a pair of computer speakers I'm not using anymore. It sounds great It works very well for concert dvds, cds, and regular movies. Beats the crummy old mono speaker in the 20+ year old tv that I'm using
