  1. Since the first time I tried silver printable media, I've loved it and I'd really REALLY hate to go back to white printable. The problem is, I've got longer projects that I'd like to store on Dual Layer DVDs.

I can't seem to find silver printable DVD-R (or DVD+R) Dual Layer discs.

A link would be much appreciated.

There are only a few brands of DL-Rs out there, so your choice is limited.
DVD+R may be be more common, but all the printables I have seen with both formats are white surface printable.
If that will work, I would look at the Verbatim printables, as they see to have the highest reliability.

  3. Thanks for the response. I anticipated that's what the answer would be. Yesterday I ordered Verbatim white printables :igh::

I guess there's just not enough demand for silver printable, which is strange. IMO, they sure look much better than white.

I agree, but until DL media becomes a lot more common, you may not see that many options. And now with Blu-Ray and similar coming on the scene, development may slow even more. I still use silver top DVDs and title them with a Sharpie. I care more how it plays than how it looks. It would be nice if a titling format like LightScribe would work better, with full color. But I can always hope.

  5. I hear you about the "how it plays". I guess I would like both. The DL's are for home movies. I put a lot of effort into making them nice with Sony Vegas Movie Studio. I've grown pretty adept at making the video, DVD menu with chapters, background music, loops and then making cover art for the DVD case and printing a nice DVD label. It makes for a nice theme. DVD cover, label and menu all match.

Seems a shame to have to lower the quality with white labels just to get longer DVD times.
