    Hi,
I recently purchased an Acer Aspire Idea 500 media center. It is running Windows MCE 2005 and has integrated Intel 950 GMA graphics.

    - My lcd-tv is a 27" Samsung LE and it has a native res. of 1360x768. It has DVI and VGA-input.

    - The media center has HDMI, SCART, and the normal monitor VGA-output. I used the scart before with a terrible picture, but the resolution did fit the screen perfectly.

    - Now I use a HDMI-cable with a converter to connect to the DVI-port on the tv. The picture is crystal clear with 1280x720 but has overscan in the sides and black bars in the top and bottom.

So... My problem comes down to that I cannot pick the 1360x768 resolution in the display options. How do I do it?

I know that Intel 950 GMA does NOT support custom resolutions - so PowerStrip was no good...
I think this is really crazy with a media center that must be inteded to connect to a tv. And 1360x768 is - as far as I know - a pretty common tv-resolution. Very disappointing since the rest of the installation have been painless and the media center is really amazing!

    Heeeeeelp!!!

Problem solved... wouw - I have used hours finding info on the internet. A lot of people with the same problem - my solution: a VGA-cable in stead of DVI. I have a VGA-input on my LCD-tv and I used the DVI-out and an DVI-VGA adapter for the media center. Works PERFECTLY!!!! 1360x768 resolution when I restarted the computer... and perfect picture...
