    Question:

I have just bought a pack of 100 DVD-Rs by Dynex, from Best Buy ($19.99). Since there were no other deals available, except the horrid Memorex brand which I refuse to buy, I bought these for the first time.

What is the Videohelp opinion on the Dynex brand?

I would give you more info (e.g. if it's RITEK or not), but the package is still sealed, just in case I return it.

The barcode, however, is: 0060311032, model: DX-DVDRT.

I would be backing up DVDs on my computer's Sony DVD-+/R/W, and playing them on my LG DVD-Recorder. Best brands so far have been Verbatim and Sony.

    Thanks for any info!

Thanks for the quick reply. Duh, I should've looked for that info before posting.

This review is closest to my situation:

"Price: $5 Purchased from: bestbuy Date purchased: November 2006
Burnt with Sony DRU-800A at 16x
    Burning reliability is Good.
    PC reliability is Good.
    DVD reliability is Good.
    Console reliability is Poor."

So-so, I suppose -- although I paid $20, not the give-away $5, I may look around for other deals posted in the forum. The 50 Verbatims for 12.99 from OfficeMax looks good.

I'll keep checking to see if there are any first-hand opinions, later on.

    The best.

Or Sony 25-packs for $8 at Staples.

Or any number of online deals from supermediastore.com or meritlone.com on Taiyo Yuden media.

Dynex was very mediocre, I had to toss about 20 in the trash from a 75-pack. It was Ritek DVD+R media.
