  1. Ok, a couple months ago my minidv was showing signs of dirty heads. (distorted playback, and teeth marks on the tape) I cleaned the heads with a cleaner, and it starting working perfectly again. I stuck another tape in about a week later and noticed it was doing it again with the distorted playback, but I realized it was only doing it at beggining of the tape where the teeth marks were at so no big deal. This all happened about two months ago, and since than its worked perfect up until last nite. I was rewinding a tape, and it sounded different so I took the tape out and darn that part of the tape had teeth marks. What could be causing this, bad heads? Need to be cleaned again? Could I be FFing, and Rewinding the tape too much? I use the minidv all the time , but have only had it last than a year and I cannot belive this thing is already tearing up. It is a basic JVC GR-250, and I have always used Sony brand tapes.

With all the Sony camcorders I've owned over the years, after about 300 hours of service, when it started acting funky, it went in for servce. Glazed rubber roller, worn out heads that may also be out of alignment, all signs of just being flat worn out.
