I use a stand-alone burner for transfering vhs tapes & i can record in DVD-RAM. I just got a computer burner that will read them but it seems its in a different format then reg DVD.
How can I get my dvd ram discs on my computer so I can edit them with say TMPGnc & burn as a regular dvd? Thanks

Rip it into standard format with any DVD RIPPER
this'll convert the RM format to STANDARD FOLDER of .VOB's
deposit on the HARRD DRIVE and it'll now be standard
some settops make invisible files, this'll flesh 'em out

RAM discs use UDF format. If TMPGEnc can't read the disc as-is, try installing Nero InCD or something that works with UDF (packet writing) discs.

If you use TMPGEnc DVD Author you can click on the 'Source' button and it will extract the mpeg-2 from DVD RAM.

Got it figured out. All I have to do is copy & past the folder on the dvd-ram disc. & load it into TMPGnc DVD author. Thanks everyone!

  8. You can just change the name to *.mpg

Btw, there are lots of dvdram topics.
