  1. I have a philips dvd-player, dvp630 in which the CD-upgrade was interrupted before finishing and now the player it is almost dead.

Has someone instructions on how to upgrade it by cable to recover it?

Can philips do it? Is it expensive?

If the firmware update was not properly finished, the player is useless and cannot be fixed. The only way to change the firmware is by CD. It would be cheaper to get a new player than get it fixed.

    You should contact Philips.

Other manufacturers have a procedure to allow recovery from this condition. It is often not obvious from the documentation supplied how to do this.

The fact that the player is only "almost dead" suggests that there may be a way.

  4. I hope there is a way, after all, they did get the software into it the first time and it was certenly not via a CD.

I was hoping someone had experienced the same and could tell me how they solved it.
