  1. I have two DVD Players:
Toshiba SD-2700 (Bought new in 2000) I use this one 85% of the time.
    and
Panasonic S35 (Bought new in 2004) I use this one only 15% of the time.

I rent DVD movies from the library and Blockbuster video a lot. I rented a video the other day and it wasn't necesscarily the cleanest disc in the world, but it didn't really have any scratches. I was playing it on the Toshiba and it would skip every 1 or 2 minutes or just kinda pause for about 6 seconds or so.

Then I played the SAME disc in my Panasonic player and it didn't skip once.
How can I fix this problem? Is there some kind of cleaner that I need for my DVD player? or are Panasonics far superior to Toshibas? What can I do? What is your advice as well?
    Thank You

Some players have a easier time with scratched DVDs. With DVDs from the library, not a lot you can do except to wash them with a mild dishwashing solution and throughly dry them and see if that helps. Unless your player has problems with new DVDs, cleaning the drive is unlikely to help.
