    I can't find any technical info about the box on the Sky site (ie connections, specs, etc).

  3. Thanks, but that post was about capturing digital broadcasts.

    With this post I meant actually getting into the hard drive in the Sky Plus boxes (they're the new TIVO type ones with a hard drive that records your programs).

    I wondered if it was possible to either connect the box or just the hard drive from the Sky Plus box to your PC to copy over the mpeg files......

    .....and I couldn't find anything really related when I searched Google.

  4. No, there's currently no way of lifting the MPEG2 stream off the Sky+ hard drive. If there was I would have bought one at Christmas! The only PVR capable of doing this is the Tivo and since that just re-encodes analogue material in the first place, what's the point. Just capture direct to your own PC's hard drive with a TV card and have done with it!
