    i recently upgraded my monitor to a 20 inch widescreen(1680x1050). i tried to play LOTR(windows media player) and i received a viewing error. what player can i use to watch my dvd's? is there a program that will upconvert the dvd playback?

    What was the error msg? all software dvd players can upconvert...
    Do you have a dvd mpeg2 decoder installed? Because wmp requires a such for dvd playback.

    Or switch VLC Media Player or Media Player Classic.
