I know it is only 399.99 and they dont show much specs but does anyone know of this compaq? I can't find anything on HP website for more information. Information in the Staples ad says just about the same information.

The Best Buy ads were removed a few days ago.
I do know they'll have the Pioneer 710 dvd burner for $29.99 on Friday and Saturday.

Well not too much info on the compaq, other then it has no dvd burner in it and is a 1.6 ghz and 15.4 widescreen, so can I get a recommendation on either one of these two laptops please,

few bad things about Acer

1- its FAT32
2- no CD's (windows,,,,drivers,,,nothing)
3- I heard their tech support sux

STILL I will go with ACER

my brother in law bought one few months ago(core2) thats how I found out about those issues

how much are they ? the site doesn't tell how much both are ganna be on black friday

MJA, they are not on sale! But there are holes in the system! What I plan to do is buy the Compaq for 399.99. I am gonna do what others do, return the compaq later in the week without a receipt and exchange it for either the HP or Acer. The price of the compaq after black friday will be 729.98. So buy for 399.98, return without receipt and get 729.98 credit and pay a few more bucks for better laptop

Most stores will only credit for the lowest recent price if you don't have a receipt, not the current price.

GadgetGuy, I know that. I wrote later in the week! Maybe I should have wrote the following week after the sale is over and the price goes back up. But that will be on Sunday anyway, two days later.

See i did this before, Staples had a linksys pci card on sale for 4.94 instant at the register, original price of 49.98, then the following week it went back up to original price, and i returned it without my receipt and boom, got a cash card with 49.98 plus the tax on it, for a total of 53.23.

But I was just wondering what you all thought would be the better laptop.

I didn't go out Friday. The traffic was too insane!! I think I will plan a day once this week to shop. I hate all the traffic and mobs of people. It's so annoying but at the same time I do love to shop.

Well guy's and gal's, here is what I did, bought the compaq for 399.98 plus the tax (26.00) for total of 425.98. The following weekend they were out of the acer so i decided to wait and I caught the hp dv6105 on sale for 699.98 with a 50.00 mail in rebate. Returned the copaq and got cash card for 729.98 plus tax 47.45 for total of 777.43 and purchased the hp for 649.98 + tax 42.25 for 692.23. Better computer and still got 85.00 on card!

So basically i got a 749.98 computer for 320.00!
