Have you gotten a Nintendo Wii or Playstation 3 yet?

So have you gotten your hands on one yet? I am trying for a Nintendo Wii with no luck so far. I haven't braved the lines yet but I'm gonna try Bestbuy first thing tomorrow morning - I'm off work all week Ahh vacation time

I'm also pursing internet sites - though amazon has the "out of stock" sign up. Compusa and Walmart have online Bundle offers. Walmart was open yesterday but was out of stock when I went back a few hours later. Unfortunately the bundle offers total around $650 since they want you to buy at least 6 to 8 items in addition to the console. I will get one I just don't know when....

I'm waiting for the price to come down on PS3. Which won't be for a LOOOONG time.

But then PS2 was released in 2000, and i didn't get mine till '04.

Nintendo would be my pick if they'd pull their head out of mario's ass and make a REAL effort to get a steady stream of third-party software on its system. I think the Wii hardware is pretty slick, and solid.

But i go where the games are, and the past 2 nintendo console game selections have been god awful, missing 80+% of third-party software.

Gamecube alone, the sheer amount of games the PS2 got that gamecube missed out on was SICKENING. Anyone who ONLY owned a cube last gen, missed out on so much its not even funny...

I got a PS3 at midnight at Best Buy when it was released.... and then flipped it on eBay for $4000. Sort of a play on the verbage of your PS3 option in your poll since I never got to test its gaming ability

Honestly I won't get a PS3 until GT5, FF, or GTA are out for it. I just started NWN2 for the PC and still play EVE. As for the Wii I like the concept of the controller but I've just never been into any Nintendo titles as of late.

I don't have, nor do I plan to buy any next-gen systems. The Wii looks rather enticing, though I might end up getting a 360 next year.

i cant open the damn wii i have cause its for my damn nephews for damn xmas :grumble:

my friend opened his though and the thing is damn fun to play. ill just kick my nephews off whenever i wanna play so no reason to go out and buy another :/ but i will wait for the ps3 to go down in price 200-300 dollars and a few revisions(cause you know the thing is going to be buggy as hell at first)

since i technically own the wii atm im entitled to say "whats up girl. wanna go back to my place and play with my wii?"

FYI EBGames is supposed to have WII'S in stock on FRIDAY. THough you'll have to get there early. My store opens at 7am. I plan to line up at 12am or 1am to be first in line to guarentee one. Bestbuy said SUNDAY would be there restock day. Though I read some threads at amazon.com that said BESTBUY would have WII'S on Friday as well. One claimed their Bestbuy was to have 60 available.

I bought my PS2 the first day they came out, used it for a month then sold it and bought another one about a year and a half later for the same reason, not enough games for it and i got a lot more for it then what i paid for it when i sold it :P

And $600.00 for a ps3 Well....... like they say, there's a (million) sucker(s) born every minute... or is it, a fool and his $$ are soon parted ?

At least $250.00 is somewhat realistic for a Wii..........

Waiting overnight for a game

Hell, i still have a SNES & DC sitting right next to one of the the PS2's in my living room & still play both, i have 150 games for the DC alone.

I've got an 18 year old step-daughter and a 5 year old son. I think the Wii is more suitable than the 360 (or PS3) for the 5 y.o. - the 18 y.o. can get what ever she can afford...

Wish I had time for games. Maybe when my son gets older he'll want the Playstation 12 which will no doubt come out at Xmas and cost $3750.00 before rebate

Ahh gotcha Just wanted to make sure you knew the 360's aren't scarce right now. Yes the 360 is a good choice too. I just don't want to go that route right now.

I'm about five hours away from going to ebgames. I've got a folding chair ready and I'll have a hat and some gloves probably. I'll have my gameboy set and ready to wait for the dawn. I figure I'll get there at 1 am or so. Too bad they open at 7am instead of 6am like Best Buy. But I figure I have a better shot at EBGAMES then the madhouse BESTBUY will be. HERE'S HOPING! I'm really digging the 360's media capabilities. With tvserenity installed on my computer network, it handles pretty much any file format (not just wmv). And seriously, if you haven't played Gears of War, go do it! And Viva Pinata is a blast.

I'd like a Wii sometime in the future, but as of right now my next $200 is going towards hddvd.

Nope, don't have one. I had a Slinky when I was a kid about 40 years
ago, but that only cost about 75 cents! :P

..... and it didn't need a power adapter, or a controller, etc!!!
