    Hello Folks:

First off let me say I apologise if this isn't in the right area, I know what I want as the end result but being so new to video wasn't sure what to call the process.
I have a Sony DVD video camera and took a bunch of video, (the camera creates new chapters on the mini-dvd every time you stop and start filming). I'm using dvd-rw and put all the video in one directory and would like to put two or thee mini dvd files on a regular size dvd5. My question what software should I use to do this? I tried DVDShrink and it seemed to only pick up the first video, I tried Nero, looked at DVDDecrypter and no luck. I guess the .ifo files are required are they? I removed them and the .buf files and left only the .vob files in the directory and every program gave errors.
These are important videos of the kids so don't want to loose them but would like to save on larger dvd. Will this be difficult to accomplish?

Just looking for some direction and I've been reading through the forums and how-to's here but haven't found anything that addresses my particular situation.

Thank you to anyone who might respond.

Thank you for the response and link redwudz:
I unfortunately made a big mistake and deleted all files in the TS_Video folder except for the .vob files. I remember reading an article on here how to create the two other files that should be with the .vob files, (.ifo and .buf - possibly). This is getting worse, can I burn just the .vob files to a DVD and have each of them be a new chapter?
Sorry for all the newbie questions, I'll keep searching and reading to see what I can up with on my own.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

You can use IFOEdit to create new IFO and BUP files, or use TDA to author a new structure completely using the VOBs you have.

May also work to use vobmerge to join the vobs and then edit with videoredo. Or demux to video and audio files and edit with free tools like cuttermaran.

Thank you all so much for the responses, now I have a starting point. I didn't know how to progress with this at all. I appreciate all the feedback.
Happy Holidays to everyone that celebrates them.
