    Hi Friends
    I own an old Samsung DVD player (DVD-611). I tried playing DVD-R/RW on it and it was not detecting it. Is there some way I can make it work to play such DVD's

    According to the compatibility list, it plays dvd-r but not dvd-rw. If I were you, I'd reburn one of those movies to +R and bitset it to dvd-rom, and see if the player recognizes it.
