Hey all-
I've been capturing video from my Sony camcorder via Ulead 5. Then I use Tmpge to encode to VCD. I use the NTSC VCD template & everything. Problem is the quality seems a crappy when played in my DVD player. Yes, my DVD is VCD compliant. I can also notice it when I play via Windows media player. How good should the quality be? As good or better than a Video tape? Please reply-
Thanks, Samcut

if you have Ulead 5 isnt that the one with vcd real time encoding ??? just encode straight to vcd then you dont have to encode you just need to got global settings and change capture settings to mpeg instead of DV

Thanks Guys. I would rather start wuth the TMPGE. It seems most of the people on the boards are using it to encode. Baldrick, what is anime? Can I use 2500bitrate? I am encoding at 4:3 NTSC 352 X 240, CBR, with highest quality as the search percision.
Source aspect is 4:3 525 line (NTSC 704x480), Video arrange-full-screen.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks, Sam -
Sorry, capturing via Ulead 5, Sony digital camcorder. I do not believe it matters, but the template I am using is Video CD.
Thanks, Sam
