Just got 200 TY 8x's from Rima. Burnt 100. No coasters, but I'm getting pixilation on my burns. I have only had pixilation problems one time before. That was a few years ago with the notorious Ritek 4x. The Ritek's showed early signs of pixiation and then whet bad over time and became unreadable. Had to replace them all. Hope that is not the case with these TY's. To check some variables I reburnt one of the really bad copies on a DVD-RW and had no pixialation problems. Just ordered 100 Ver Data Life. When they come in I will reburn, check for pixilation and follow up post. This is an early warning. Hope there is not a bad batch of TY's out there. Too soon to tell.

False alarm. The TY's are fine. It was my firmware. A rookie mistake. Just bought 4 Pioneer A111D's and did not update the firmware. The latest firmware, FW129EU, specifically mentions TY 8x's DVD's. I should have known better. TY is the best. Have now burnt over 600 DVD's on my new A111D's without one coaster. Also, the rip lock is removed. They rip real fast.

Glad you got it sorted. I was going to suggest you might have gotten some counterfeit TY media, but you say you bought them from Rima. Rima's a top-notch vendor 8)

Whenever I have a problem with a TY burn, I always look everywhere but at the media itself for the problem, and I usually find it. TY is the best
